For people aged 75 and over, as well as people aged 65 and over with certain risk factors (see Swiss vaccination schedule), we can bill the vaccine through the mandatory health insurance if you present a prescription for the vaccination. Alternatively, you can send the receipt to your health insurance company yourself. In both cases, the co-payment for the vaccination service is CHF 25. The costs for the vaccination service are covered by some supplementary insurance policies.

As people age, their immune systems weaken and often no longer respond strongly enough to the standard flu vaccine. For this reason, the Federal Office of Public Health recommends the high-dose flu vaccine for people aged 75 and older, as well as for people aged 65 and older with certain risk factors. This vaccine contains four times the amount of viral protein (antigens) compared to the standard flu vaccine. This makes it possible to provide optimal protection for yourself and others against the flu and its complications. The optimal time for vaccination is between mid-October and the start of the flu season. We vaccinate people aged 65 and over with the high-dose flu vaccine Efluelda. For younger people, the regular flu vaccine is recommended. It can be administered at the same time as the COVID-19 vaccine.
